Favourite Youtube Technology Channels

As someone who is interested in technology (old and new), here are a few of my go-to YouTube channels.

Broadly speaking, these cover current and historical trends in technologies.

I think what I enjoy about these channels is that the history of technology is yoked to the histories of people and cultures.

AudioPilz The AudioPilz channel, home of shows like Bad Gear and Better Gear (but mostly Bad Gear;). We all love synthesizers, grooveboxes and drum machines but some of them are hated too. Let's take a closer look. Brace yourself for jams, video mashups, memes, real education, electronic music production enlightenment and all kinds of madness.

Andrew Robinson Journalist & Reviewer covering audio, home theatre, tech & design.

Cathodic Ray Dude (CRD) If I had to pick a theme, I'd say I try to make videos about things we tend not to think can be interesting. Vintage video gear is a big interest, but I've logged far more hours in the computer cockpit.

Gaming Historian The Gaming Historian is a documentary series all about the history of video games. The show is researched, written, edited, and created by Norman Caruso.

LGR Weekly coverage of retro tech, PC games, and more! Classic computer gaming, Oddware, thrifting, Tech Tales, Sims, etc.

Modern Vintage Gamer  I love Modern, I love Retro. Tech, Hardware, Gaming.

RMC -The Cave This channel is a celebration of retro computers, games and history. We'll be unboxing, blowing into carts, firing up old systems, repairing kit and gaming across a range of formats. Retro Road Trips, Trash to Treasure and Retro Tea Breaks all feature on the channel.

TechMoan Enjoying the best and worst of new and old technology. Consumer Tech - by a Tech Consumer.

Technology Connections Documentaries about technology.

The 8-Bit Guy A computer video series focusing mainly on retro technology from the 80's, 90's and 2000's. However, once or twice a year I'll create something totally "out there."  My main goal at this point is to make educational content about retro technology that is interesting and engaging.  Some people will be re-living their childhood, while others will be experiencing the technology for the first time.
